  • Quick Answer: While Bob Odenkirk wants to reunite with Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn, no official casting for Season 2 has been confirmed yet.

Apple TV’s Pluribus saw Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan reunite with star Rhea Seehorn three years after the hit Netflix series ended. But to complete the Breaking Bad universe reunion, could Bob Odenkirk join the sci-fi series in its upcoming second season?

Odenkirk has nothing but praise for the first season of Pluribus. Since the show originally received a two-season order, the Nobody star has even hinted at a potential reunion with Seehorn.

Vince Gilligan and Bob Odenkirk first worked together on Breaking Bad, with Odenkirk joining the show in Season 2 as the shady lawyer Saul Goodman.

The two later reunited for Better Call Saul, where Rhea Seehorn played Kim Wexler opposite Odenkirk’s Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman.

Now that Gilligan and Seehorn are working together again on Pluribus, Odenkirk admitted he would be interested in joining them – though he joked that his presence might disrupt the show’s world.

“Of course I would [like to pop in], but you can’t do that,” he told ScreenRant. “I think I would destroy the fabric of his world. [Laughs] Put rubber on my face and a wig and everything, sure.”

While his appearance in the series remains uncertain, Odenkirk gave Pluribus an enthusiastic review. He noted that even the smallest details in Gilligan’s shows are always intentional and meaningful.

“Across the board excellent, 6 [out of 4] stars, 8 [out of 5] stars, how many stars you got?” he said. “It helps if you know what Vince Gilligan does and you watch the show the way he’s trained us to watch, which is [enunciating] pay attention to every detail. Everything will matter.”

“Every little thing that you see will matter. And he’s exploring, of course, I think, some very relevant themes and taking the post-apocalyptic world in a new direction – an ethical direction,” he continued.

If Odenkirk does end up appearing in Pluribus Season 2, it wouldn’t be the first time a Better Call Saul actor has joined the show.

In fact, Patrick Fabian, who played Saul Goodman’s nemesis Howard Hamlin, voiced the recorded message that Carol (Seehorn) hears when she calls the number of the hive mind after it distances itself from her for a while.

Carol Burnett, who portrayed Marion in Better Call Saul, is also part of Pluribus, playing a fictionalized version of herself who appears as part of the hive mind during a special social media promotion for the show.

So if Odenkirk joins the new season, his appearance may not be as subtle as Burnett’s and Fabian’s. Instead, as he mentioned in the interview, he may not be physically seen, so he doesn’t take the spotlight away from Seehorn.

He could appear as a recording or even as a fictionalized version of himself who is part of the hive mind. Either way, if this happens, fans will surely be excited.
