Following the release of the first season finale this week, fans of Pluribus are already wondering when they can expect the release of the second season.

The hit Apple TV series ended its freshman run recently with a cliffhanger ending surrounding Carol and Manousos' plan to destroy the Others through an atomic bomb, as well as the heartbreaking revelation regarding Zosia and the Others' devious intent on Carol. There is already anticipation on how they will address what's next for the story of the series as it embarks on its next chapter.

So far, there is no release window set yet for the second season of Pluribus, despite its early renewal back when Apple TV gave it a series order.

Speaking with EW ahead of the release of the first season finale, showrunner Vince Gilligan shared that it might take a while before the second season airs, as they want to take their time to write it.

"We’re working on it. It takes us a while. I would love to go faster if I could," he said.

Executive producer Gordon Smith added, "You know how on a timeline, there's usually an arrow that points towards infinity? Well, I think we're on the arrow somewhere."

Not only that, but there is also no filming date set yet for the second season, but the writing process is currently ongoing.

"As much as I am so grateful for the fans digging this show, we’ve always found our best way to proceed is to be in our bunker creating this thing and not pay too much attention to reactions of any sort, positive or negative. We’re kind of the first fans of this show, the first viewers of the show, and we kinda try to make ourselves happy," he said.

"The way to tell a story is to keep doing it the way you did it back before you had an audience. That has always worked best for us."

For now, fans should wait for news and updates regarding the second season in the coming months, as it's still too early to say when we can see it.
