Homelander may be indestructible, but he was never mentioned to be "truly immortal" (as seen by his greying hair), for one thing. But he also happens to be determined to live longer than he should. A Gen V season 2 episode 5 cameo just proves one other thing that could destroy him once and for all.

Can Homelander Be Defeated? Gen V's Sister Sage Cameo Explained

Surprise, surprise, with The Boys universe being canonically connected to Gen V's timeline, it's no wonder that Sister Sage, of all supes in existence, stumbled upon the spin-off.

Considering that she has a complicated relationship of helping (and yet destroying) Homelander, this Gen V cameo just made death unavoidable for the leader of The Seven.

Homelander has appeared in Gen V plenty before, but Sister Sage's appearance tells a different story now that she's met Marie Moreau, who happens to have hemokinetic powers that could turn blood into weapons or resurrect people from the dead.

But as many of the supes in The Boys universe are, there's always a catch. In Marie's case, the more she uses her powers, the more she risks passing out from blood loss. So there's still some catching up to do before she could truly overpower someone like Homelander.

What to Expect From The Boys Season 5? Finale Explored

Considering that Sister Sage wasn't fully utilized in The Boys season 4, the fifth and final season of the series could bring Sage up to the stage to have her moment. We might even get to see her full potential unfold as soon as Gen V season 2 and The Boys season 5 wrap up.

It's widely expected for Homelander to finally meet his demise in season 5, but there's no confirmed way of how he would die. Sure, there may be a Supe-killing virus, but Homelander and The Seven also discovered an antidote to reverse its effects.

So, who knows? What fans hope for the finale is to put an end to Homelander and all the other supes who never deserved to abuse their powers, anyway.
