Blake Lively has scored a new victory in her legal case with Justin Baldoni after a judge voted in favor of her in the location of the deposition.
The legal drama between the It Ends with Us stars is currently ongoing as both sides are preparing for the trial that is set to take place next year. A deposition is also scheduled later this week.
What is the Judge's Ruling on the Location of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's Deposition?
According to Variety, Judge Lewis Liman has ruled that the deposition will take place in Lively's home turf after her lawyers raised concerns that Baldoni's legal team would turn it into a media frenzy.
Originally, Baldoni's side wanted the deposition to take place at the Park Avenue offices of Meister Seelig & Fein, one of the firms working on his case. However, Lively's team objected as they have concerns that they will set up a media ambush.
There are also concerns that Baldoni's team will invite some influencers to be part of the audience.
The deposition will now take place in an undisclosed location (it was redacted in the public document of the motion). Judge Liman has also asked Baldoni's team to turn over the list of attendees.
In a previous interview with People, Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, suggested that he wanted the deposition to take place at Madison Square Garden.
"Hold the deposition at MSG, sell tickets or stream it, and donate every dollar to organizations helping victims of domestic abuse," he said.
What Are the Recent Updates on Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's Legal Drama?
Earlier this month, Lively's lawyers filed for a subpoena on influencers Perez Hilton, Candace Owens, and Andy Signore.
The actress's legal team made the move as part of their attempt to prove Baldoni's alleged smear campaign against her. The aforementioned influencers have been actively commenting on the drama in their online channels.
A court has also ruled that Baldoni is allowed to obtain messages between Lively and Taylor Swift related to the filming of It Ends with Us.
The messages are considered relevant since Lively identified Swift as the person who is familiar with the complaints about the working environment on the set.
Lively attempted to move for a protective order, seeking to relieve her from producing the messages, as she believes that her communications with Swift are irrelevant to the case. However, it was denied.
