Marvel has been making major strides in terms of inclusivity and representation in the past few years. Not only did the comic book movie giant break ground with films like Black Panther and Captain Marvel, but it also continues to pleasantly surprise with films like Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Widow.
Speaking in an interview with ET's Ash Crossan after Marvel's panel at Hall H of the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con International last weekend, Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson decided to give out her thoughts about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"It was really awesome to be up there," the Marvel star commented after coming down from the panel.
There were a lot of major revelations during the panel, one of which included Natalie Portman's return to the MCU as Jane Foster Thor in Taika Waititi's upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.
"It's pretty explosive," the actress said, commenting about all the powerful characters and all the films announced at the event, "The future is female for Marvel, that's what it feels like."
Another major announcement was Marvel's confirmation that Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) was definitely part of the LGBTQ and that the Asgardian Warrior would be finding her own queen in the next Thor movie.
Marvel is wonderfully inclusive now, and we definitely can't wait to see what the studio has prepared for everyone with all these exciting films lined up in Phase 4 of the MCU, beginning with Black Widow.
Black Widow is slated to release on May 1, 2020.
