After attempting to kill Max (Sadie Sink) in Season 4, Vecna has now abducted Holly (Nell Wisher) and revealed another side of himself in human form as Henry.

By the looks of it, the villain has a much larger plan, and Bower himself hinted that what fans saw in Volume 1 was just the beginning, with Volumes 2 and 3 set to be much darker.

“I think Volume 1 is, it’s funny, because it’s like—I want to call it a setup, but it is an explosive setup to what continues to happen in Volume 2 and subsequently [the finale],” he told Deadline.

With that said, the actor wants viewers to be on the edge of their seats for what Vecna is about to do.

“They should feel like what they’re doing is holding onto their chairs, going, ‘No, no, no.’ That’s how I want them to feel, particularly with what I’m up to,” he continued.

Schnapp, meanwhile, teased the kind of powers his character possesses after being revealed as a wizard.

“It was originally supposed to work in the same way that Eleven’s powers do because, as you read the scripts in Volume 2, it comes in a different way than hers,” he said. “So, making sure that the physicality of that shows that it works differently.”

From being just a kid in previous seasons, Holly has now grown up in Stranger Things Season 5, and co-creator Matt Duffer revealed she plays a much bigger role in the final season that will answer many questions about the Upside Down.

“Especially as we get into Volume 2, we start to answer more and more why Will was kidnapped and how it ties in with Holly and all of this. Everything sort of comes full circle,” he explained.

If Volume 1, which features Episodes 1 to 4, has already revealed a lot about the series, co-creator Ross Duffer added that Volume 2, composed of Episodes 5 to 7, will provide even more crucial information for fans.

In fact, it will shed light on Dimension X, first introduced in Stephen Daldry’s prequel Stranger Things: The First Shadow, and explain how it directly ties into the Upside Down, Vecna, and the Mind Flayer.

“That really is a Volume 2 thing, where we really get into the Upside Down, and we explain what it is,” he revealed. “Again, this is something that has been planned for 10 years now, and it just now, obviously, is the time to reveal it.”

By the looks of it, fans can expect even more revelations when Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 drops on December 25 and Volume 3 on December 31.
