Peacemaker may have launched before the new DC Universe (DCU), but its upcoming second season is set to tie directly into James Gunn’s rebooted continuity—particularly through a connection to the recently released Superman.
Christopher Smith (John Cena), aka Peacemaker, makes a hilarious cameo in Superman’s post-credit scene, appearing on a talk show hosted by right-wing pundit Cleavis Thornwaite (Michael Ian Black), who’s leading a smear campaign against Superman (David Corenswet) and everything he stands for.
This short scene confirms that Peacemaker and Superman are part of the same universe, helping build a more connected DC world.
What is the Connection Between Peacemaker Season 2 and Superman?
The trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 suggests there may be two versions of John Cena’s character—one from the old DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and another from the new DCU.
Gunn confirmed that the new season takes place after Superman. In fact, the trailer hints that Peacemaker might meet his own double, possibly the version seen in Superman.
With that being said, Season 2 might explain how Peacemaker can exist in two timelines.
Several characters from the DCU will also appear, including Guy Gardner/Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn).
The Justice Gang will show up in the first episode, with more Superman-related connections expected throughout the eight-episode season.
Gunn also teased that “a couple of other people wandering these halls” appear in both Superman and Peacemaker Season 2.
Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) will return to confront Peacemaker over the death of his son in The Suicide Squad. And while nothing’s confirmed, even Superman himself might make an appearance.
Will Superman Appear in Peacemaker Season 2?

It looks like Peacemaker Season 2 won’t just feature Superman’s supporting characters—there’s a chance the Man of Steel himself might show up.
Recently, Danielle Brooks, who plays Leota Adebayo in the DCU, shared an Instagram story featuring David Corenswet in his Superman suit.
It’s also good to note that Gunn has teased a “big cameo” in the upcoming season. So, with the Justice Gang confirmed to appear, it wouldn’t be surprising if Superman joins the action too.
The idea of parallel universes and “pocket dimensions” was introduced in Peacemaker Season 1 and was further explored in Superman.
With that in mind, this could be the key to how different heroes cross over into each other’s worlds.
Peacemaker Season 2 is slated to premiere on August 21.
