Ashley Barrett's (Colby Minifie) job as Vought's CEO took a great toll on her career, but most especially on her hair. Here are the 7 best Ashley freakouts in The Boys seasons 1 to 4 ā Including Gen V.
The First Sign of Trouble
Ashley may have been proud of how far she had come (from being a Director of Talent Relations to becoming Vought's CEO), but she never knew just how steep the price she had to pay to be there.
Madelyn Stillwell knew how to subdue Homelander every time he had a little breakdown from his marketing duties. Ashley, on the other hand, doesn't know a thing.
So, imagine her surprise when Homelander interrupted Victoria Neuman's campaign to clear his name. This is when it all began for her shedding. But it gets worse over time.
Homelander Tells Her Who Vought's Real Boss Is
If keeping The Seven intact is her main job, she's got another thing coming by working for Homelander. He saw this as an opportunity to undermine her, rendering her practically begging for his approval on hand and foot.
Ashley should've known better before she left Blindspot, a potential member of The Seven, going deaf on his auditions. Homelander practically established that anything he says goes from then on forward.
The Wrong Time To Be The Deep
Ashley had been demoted and couldn't dig herself a deeper grave when she found out she had been replaced by someone younger (and way smarter) than her.
The deal she thought she had already worked out with the marketing team on Ryan's public Supe entry was still being filled with "suggestions" from the likes of The Deep to get his time in the spotlight.
Mind you, Sister Sage gave her harsh deep talk right before The Deep came in the elevator, and she was not happy to be talked down by a newbie.
Out of rage, she ends up talking to herself as though The Deep wasn't right beside her, "I swear to God. Stupid people who think they're smart make me want to eat my own sh*t."
Ashley Pulls Her Hair Out on A-Train
Similar to The Deep, A-Train is not willing to stay in the shadows. Despite having his "rebranding" pitch rejected, he came up on live stage sporting his new colors, wearing gold, blue, and red, instead of his usual variants of blue.
Ashley, as a part of her job, confronts him, no longer able to control the damage he did by debuting his new colors to their fans.
Instead of trying to reason with the Supe as she usually did, she pulled one of her hair out, unbothered at the parts of herself she kept losing to the company.
Vought Destroyed Ashley At Her Lowest Moment
Ashley had gone completely bald and Homelander wasn't going to let it slip by without giving her the attention she never wanted in the worst way possible. Hair is everything, and Homelander was going to take advantage of the situation.
She had revealed her secret in front of The Deep and A-Train during their meeting, stripped of her dignity.
When Ashley Takes Matters Into Her Own Hands
In Gen V, she was the only "sane" person handling the outbreak of Supes destroying everything that gets in their way using their powers.
Everyone in the office is helplessly watching their life flash before their eyes, and if it weren't for Ashley keeping her head together, they wouldn't have survived.
She ordered them to call Homelander and call in a helicopter to get to safety, all the while grading which Supes should get in The Seven. In Ashley's words, "Whoever kills these Rogue Supes gets in The Seven."
When the "Sub" News Anchor Tries To "Dom" Ashley's Game
Out of everything on this list, this one takes the cake! Remember the former fling she used to take her anger out on?
Well, that was the VNN news anchor Cameron Coleman, who broke up with her after Ashley got demoted from her position.
According to him, he needed a "dom" who was "dominating." Unfortunately, he got his karma pretty quickly.
When Ashley and A-Train were trying to keep their secret break-in at Homelander's home, Homelander and The Seven began their investigation into who might have been the mole that leaked the footage.
Ashley knew exactly who to pin the blame on. What makes this worse is that Coleman was not only fired from his position, but The Seven took their dignity back by beating it out on his system.
