Haruma Miura had been the face of the live-action Attack on Titan films and had helped introduce fans to the franchise by playing the part of Eren Jaeger. What's tragic news is that Miura has passed away at the age of 30, and it's from an apparent suicide.
According to Kyodo News, Miura had been found hanging last Saturday in his home in Tokyo. It was said that it was Miura's manager who had found him in his home. Miura's management company Amuse Inc. had also said in a statement: "To fans and people concerned, we apologize for the worry and the inconvenience caused, but as to details we are still confirming and will inform you once again."
Miura had been working as an actor since 2003 and had about 49 credits to his name. While Attack on Titan is probably his biggest franchise, he had also played roles in TV dramas like Gokusen, Last Cinderella, and Bloody Monday as well as films like Eien no Zero (Eternal Zero) and Kimi ni Todoke (From Me to You). He was also said to be starring in some yet-to-be-released films like The Confidence Man JP: The Movie.
Tributes have already going around online for Miura, and fans are heartbroken that he should die so young. What's even sadder is that a letter has come out that a 20-year-old Miura had written to his 40-year-old self:
With the world already depressing enough as it is, it's ultimately heartbreaking when some people can't take that pressure. Miura will definitely be missed.
