Overwatch 2 recently unveiled a Cowboy Bebop collaboration featuring new skins. With the collab finally launching today, fans are asking: are the Cowboy Bebop skins free in Overwatch 2?
The new crossover is not the first time that Overwatch teamed up with a popular anime, though it’s no doubt an unexpected one. After all, Cowboy Bebop isn’t typically an anime that gets video game crossovers.
Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop Features Special Trailer and New Skins
Overwatch 2's latest collab was revealed via a trailer that was shared on March 9.
Instead of being just a simple teaser though, the trailer is a recreation of Cowboy Bebop's iconic opening featuring the new character skins.
As it was just a teaser released days before the event’s start date, it did not reveal how the skins would look like in the game.
That changed today, as Blizzard shared a proper gameplay trailer that showed off the five skins that are part of the collab. Check out the trailer here:
Here is a list of the five Overwatch heroes that have Bebop-inspired Legendary Skins:
- Cole Cassidy – Spike Spiegel
- Ashe – Faye Valentine
- Mauga – Jet Black
- Sombra – Ed
- Wrecking Ball – Ein
Along with the skins, the collab will also feature an array of emotes, highlight intros, and more that are inspired by Shinichiro Watanabe’s iconic anime.

Are the Cowboy Bebop Skins Free in Overwatch 2?
Much like the One-Punch Man collab, most of the skins in this crossover will not be free. This means Cowboy Bebop fans will need to shell out some cash to get the entire Bebop crew in the game.
There is one exception though, and that is the Ein Wrecking Ball skin. All Overwatch 2 players will be able to get this Ein skin for free.
As for how to get it, players will need to complete in-game challenges. This should be similar to the Mumen Rider skin where players had to play a set number of games to unlock it.
How to Get the Cowboy Bebop Skins in Overwatch, Explained
As for the other skins, they should be available on the Overwatch 2 store as single-skin purchases or in sets.
Given that other skin releases have premium prices, players will also need to stack up Overwatch Coins to get all these skins. There should also be a Mega Bundle that features the skins and other items.
The Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop collab will go live today, March 12.
