Anthony Mackie threw shade at Tom Holland once again as he teased his upcoming MCU return in Captain America: Brave New World.
The film will see Sam Wilson officially taking the mantle of Captain America after the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. A teaser trailer was released recently which gave fans their first preview of his first solo adventure.
As Marvel Studios remains mum on the plot details regarding the film, we know that Harrison Ford's President Thunderbolt Ross will transform into the Red Hulk and the Serpent Society will also play a major role.
Anthony Mackie Throws Shade at Tom Holland as He Discusses Captain America: Brave New World
Speaking recently with The Official Marvel Podcast, Mackie teased his starring role in Captain America: Brave New World where he threw shade at Holland once again as he claimed that the upcoming film will be better than any of his movies.
"Well, he's Cap. Finally. Now we see him running missions on his own and trying to figure out where he fits into the whole world. This is way better than any of Tom Holland's movies. And, I have Harrison Ford!" the actor said.
In case you're not familiar, Mackie and Holland have had a friendly rivalry for the past several years that started when the Spider-Man actor joked that there is no Falcon solo movie.
While Mackie was just being playful in his remarks, he did set up a high expectation for the upcoming film as he is hyping it up as a strong installment in the MCU that fans will love.
With their ongoing friendly rivalry, it would be interesting to see whether we will see a Spider-Man and Sam Wilson Captain America team up in the future as a result of this and perhaps poke fun at their real-life situation.
Captain America: Brave New World is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
