Josh Keaton confirms his role in the upcoming Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 as Eddie Brock.
“You probably caught a glimpse of me in the preview for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” he wrote on X. “I mean, how could you miss that jaw and those brows? See you in season 2. -Eddie Brock.”
After the symbiote was teased in the first season, Eddie’s arrival in the sophomore season seems inevitable.
In fact, he has a major role to play this time, as he attempts to take over Spider-Man while the hero tries to rid himself of the symbiote. Eddie will even get a slick new version of his black costume.
However, while Peter may eventually manage to separate himself from the symbiote, potentially leading Eddie to become Venom, an intense battle between the two may not happen until a potential third season.
That said, the second season may still focus on its other villains, including Scorpion, Rhino, the Lizard, and Otto Octavius, who’s finally set to become Doctor Octopus.
What to Expect From Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2?
The first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man introduced Peter Parker, Harry Osborn, Nico Minoru, and Tombstone, who was still a high school student and a close friend of Peter’s before turning to a life of crime.
With Season 2 on the way, fans can expect the show to take the story up a notch with the arrival of Eddie Brock, Ghost-Spider, and a new symbiote suit.
With the symbiote making its return, it’s safe to assume that Venom will finally be part of the series.
While this hasn’t been confirmed yet, the symbiote bonding with both Peter and Eddie in the trailer is probably enough evidence that Venom will appear one way or another.
In fact, Marvel Television and Marvel Animation executive Brad Winderbaum even teased that the symbiotes would play a “significant factor” in the next season.
So, fans will have to wait and see whether Eddie will finally turn into Venom when Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 premieres in January 2027 on Disney+.
