Throughout her five decades of career, Youn Yuh-Jung has already wowed several award-giving bodies across the Globe. Most recently, she grabbed the Best Supporting Actress award at the Oscars for her role in Minari. She even spread her commendable words during her acceptance speech, telling the crowd that everyone is equal in all aspects regardless of people's gender, race, and color.

Youn Yuh-Jung Earns Standing Ovation At 42nd Blue Dragon Awards
On Friday, the 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards celebrated the best movies and stars of 2021. Among the recipients was the Oscar-winning actress, Youn Yuh Jung.
As soon as she stepped up the stage, the actors and actresses at the KBS Hall in Yeoido, Seoul, offered a standing ovation to honor her. In return, the actress gave them a meaningful opening speech after introducing herself as an old actress Youn Yuh-Jung.

She revealed that during her interview with The Guardian, she was asked what she thinks the reason is behind the continued international success of Korean content – from Parasite to Squid Game. She proudly told the news outlet that the Korean film and TV industry always has good movies and dramas. However, the world only started paying attention to the country's masterpieces.
"Now, you would have to support my claim. My only wish is for you to continue creating good content and sharing stories with people around the world," she went on.
Youn Yuh-Jung ended her speech with a witty message to the crowd, thanking them for supporting her before and after bringing home the Oscars.
Youn Yuh-Jung Continues To Be Honored By South Korea
Before the 42nd Blue Dragon Awards happened, the South Korean government gave her the highest national cultural medal to pay tribute to her and her notable efforts in the industry.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism handed her the Geumgwan Order of Cultural Merit at the 2021 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards ceremony at the National Theater of Korea.
During the event, Lee Jang-Hee and late producer Lee Choon-Yun received the second-highest national cultural medal – the Eungwan medal. Three other artists bagged the Bogwan honor.
