The recently aired episode 11 of Yellowstone season 5 revealed how John Dutton died and who could potentially be the culprit behind his demise.
After Kevin Costner confirmed his exit from the series earlier this year, the midseason premiere of the hit series began by killing off his fan-favorite character and it became the subject of the mystery for the rest of the season.

Episode 11 of Yellowstone season 5 showed flashbacks of how John Dutton died on the fateful night at the Governor's mansion, which was initially ruled as a suicide.
As the characters close to John and the viewers have suspected, the character did not likely die in a suicide as it is something that he wouldn't have done.
The mansion had a power outage in the middle of the night, making the security guard suspicious of what was happening.
Three armed men in black entered the mansion with night vision goggles and went inside John's room. Then, one of them wrapped their arm around John's neck and drugged him through an injection.
They brought John to the bathroom and had him shoot himself in the head. A bottle of oxycodone was planted in the medicine cabinet to make it more look like a suicide.
The security guard went to John's room after hearing the gunshot and found him dead, where he presumed that he killed himself.
Who Dies in Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 11?
Another character faced their demise in episode 11 of Yellowstone season 5.
Jamie's girlfriend Sarah Atwood died in the recent episode after she was shot in the head and left for dead in the car by a group of hitmen.
She was most likely killed due to her connection to John's death, but that is a question that they'll need to address in the next episode as the mystery unravels and we get more clarity on the conspiracy.
There is no doubt that Sarah's death is shocking and it intensified the stakes of the drama this season even further as the questions are starting to get answered.
It is interesting to see how it plays out in the rest of the final season, especially on Jamie's fate as we are learning more of the extent of his shady dealings.
