- Quick Answer: ABC renewed High Potential for Season 3 to resolve the mystery of Roman’s disappearance and the aftermath of the attack on Captain Nick Wagner.
High Potential Season 2 has successfully built on the show’s success, keeping fans fully invested in Morgan’s investigative skills.
With the second season ending on a high note and a major cliffhanger, the big question now is: will there be a High Potential Season 3? Fortunately, we have some answers. Here’s everything we know so far.
Is High Potential Season 3 Happening?

With the show’s success, it’s no surprise that ABC has renewed High Potential for Season 3 ahead of the Season 2 finale.
Based on the French series HPI, some of the biggest story beats of the new season may still draw from its source material. However, the network isn’t solely relying on the original storyline, taking creative liberties to make Morgan’s story more engaging.
Even so, it’s safe to assume that the third installment will continue to unravel the mystery surrounding Roman’s disappearance. The second season dropped several clues about what really happened to him, including a shadowy figure watching Ava in the Season 2 finale. From the looks of it, the show is setting the stage to finally introduce Morgan’s missing partner.
Season 3 is also expected to further develop Morgan and Karadec’s relationship after Season 2 set up their slow-burning romance. Their dynamic continues to evolve, especially now that Karadec ended his relationship with Lucia.
But it’s also worth noting that Morgan may have complicated feelings for her boss, Captain Nick Wagner, creating another layer of tension to the story.
How Did High Potential Season 2 End?

Warning: Major spoilers ahead. Read with caution if you haven’t watched the Season 2 finale yet.
High Potential Season 2 ended with a major shocker involving Captain Nick Wagner. As he and Morgan investigated Roman’s disappearance, Wagner was set to meet an “FBI ghost” who allegedly knew the truth.
Wagner intentionally gave Morgan false details about the meeting to protect her. However, when she found her boss, he was already bleeding out from multiple stab wounds.
From the looks of it, Wagner’s own father—the corrupt Nick Wagner Sr.—may have set him up to be attacked. Still, the younger Wagner’s fate remains uncertain, as the episode ends with his life hanging in the balance.
Meanwhile, with his fate unknown, actor Steve Howey, who portrays Wagner, is reportedly no longer a series regular.
As for Roman, Morgan finally uncovers new information about her missing ex, but it’s not what she expected. A file provided by the “cleaner,” Willa Quinn, claims that Roman was working with a corrupt FBI agent, Lila Flynn, and is now a suspect in her murder.
As Morgan’s investigation continues, a shadowy figure appears during Ava’s art show, watching the child. Although the individual isn’t clearly seen, it is strongly implied to be Roman.
To further complicate matters, Morgan’s instincts prove correct when Karadec’s girlfriend, Lucia, is revealed to be both an accessory to murder and a serial con artist.
Karadec is forced to arrest Lucia, ending their relationship on the spot. He later apologizes to Morgan for not trusting her, culminating in a heartfelt hug between the two.
So far, there are no words on when High Potential Season 3 will be released
