If there's one thing fans are dying to know about Stranger Things season 5, it's whether one of the classic characters returns to the show: Will Argyle be back in Hawkins? Recent trailers may have sparked speculation, but here's what the trailers suggest about everyone's favorite Surger Boy Pizza delivery guy.
What Happens to Argyle and Surfer Boy Pizza Van in Stranger Things Season 5?

Argyle and the Surfer Boy Pizza van were introduced as one of the most lovable yet crucial combos to have helped the gang on their mission to save El and the Byers' family in Stranger Things season 4.
Yet fans are scratching their heads, scrambling their brains to think about how they could potentially return in the season finale.
Well, here's the truth: Argyle may not be reprising his role. As the actor Eduardo Franco confirmed in January 2024 (via Steve Harvey show), he was not contacted to return at all: "It's nice to hear that there's some concern, you know what I mean? But yeah, I never got a phone call, so yeah, I think that's it."
The same thing happened to Joseph Quinn when fans had their hopes up that he would make his anticipated resurrection from the Upside Down. Unfortunately, based on the trailers, Eddie Munson and Argyle appear to have completed their roles in the fourth season.
Considering that the Season 5 trailer showed Steve Harrington tinkering with the local radio station in Hawkins, the showrunners may be implicitly suggesting that we should not expect Argyle and Eddie at all. Steve's teaser scene tells a different story, though. Here's how his teaser appears to replace Argyle's role in the story.
How Could the Hawkins Radio Station Replace Argyle's Pizza Van?
According to the trailer, the Hawkins radio station will be the gang's only form of communication as they split into groups, including Robin.
In case you missed it, radios and walkie-talkies have been prominently shown across all seasons. Since the gang must have their own safe space to plan and use as an escape hatch, Steve leads this series finale with his own replacement story to compensate for the missing Surfer Boy pizza van.
It's worth mentioning that since the gang is diving back to the Upside Down to face and defeat Vecna once and for all, there may be a chance to get a glimpse of Eddie becoming Kas the Bloody-Handed, aka a vampire character from Dungeons & Dragons.
Argyle, on the other hand, could surprise fans and Jonathan and the others with his iconic pizza van 'accidentally' hitting Vecna's creations. Who knows?
