No new episode of South Park season 27 is airing this week, and fans have been wondering why the series has decided to skip releasing a new episode despite the two-week gap.
As the current political atmosphere continues to heat up, there has been a lot of anticipation about what South Park will lampoon in its next episode, which was supposed to air this week. Since the season 27 premiere last July, the series has been working on a bi-weekly schedule to give the production team more time to work on the episodes.
Why South Park Season 27 is Not Releasing a New Episode This Week?

In a statement posted on the show's official social media account, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone explained why they are not able to release a new episode of South Park this week as scheduled.
They admitted that they were unable to finish the episode on time and apologized to fans for the delay, promising that it would be released next week.
"Apparently, when you do everything at the last minute, sometimes you don’t get it done," Parker and Stone said in a statement posted 12 hours before the original scheduled airing.
"This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and South Park fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!"
There has been a lot of anticipation for the next episode, considering the headlines that have dominated in the last few days. Fans are also wondering whether the series will address the killing of Charlie Kirk, whom they lampooned in the second episode of the current season.
What is the Release Schedule of South Park Season 27?
Earlier this month, Comedy Central confirmed that they have shifted the release of the new episodes of South Park season 27 to a bi-weekly schedule, instead of the usual weekly release that we've been accustomed to.
While the plans could still change, the current production plan for South Park season 27 is to release new episodes until December 10, wrapping the ten-episode run of the season.
The show's parent company, Paramount/Skydance, has also given approval to the show's new release schedule and did not oppose the plan at all.
According to reports, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone wanted to have more time in producing episodes due to the many Trump headlines that have been discussed recently.
