South Park is officially sticking to releasing new episodes on a bi-weekly schedule for the rest of its season 27 run.
For the past few weeks, fans noticed that the series is no longer releasing new episodes weekly during the current season, which prompted questions on whether there has been a shift in its release strategy. After all, there is now more attention on the hit show's current season due to its ongoing jab and criticism of the Trump administration.
Is South Park Season 27 Releasing New Episodes Bi-Weekly?

According to Deadline, Comedy Central has officially shifted the release of the new episodes of South Park season 27 to a bi-weekly schedule, instead of the usual weekly release that we've been accustomed to.
The news came following the confirmation that the show will not be releasing a new episode again this week and will return next week, September 3.
While the plans could still shift, the current production plan for South Park season 27 is to release new episodes until December 10, wrapping the ten-episode run of the season.
The show's parent company, Paramount/Skydance, has also given approval to the show's new release schedule and did not oppose the plan at all.
"We’re not going to argue with what’s working. The numbers are great, the show is getting a lot of attention — if they want to give us a 20-week season for 10-episodes, that’s OK," an insider said in the report.
Why is South Park Season 27 No Longer Releasing Episodes Weekly?
The question for fans now is why South Park season 27 is no longer committed to releasing new episodes in a weekly manner.
According to reports, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone wanted to have more time in producing episodes due to the many Trump headlines that have been discussed recently.
"What they’re doing means this year’s episodes need more time than usual to put together, to finish," a source close to the show's producers explained in the report.
"So much happens right now in just one day with Trump. No one’s going to sacrifice getting it right, even if we have to push getting it to air, and if that makes the season longer, so be it."
