Simu Liu is now clamoring for his The Copenhagen Test co-star Melissa Barrera to play Wonder Woman in the DCU franchise, and here's why.
One of the castings that DC fans have been looking forward to is the role of Wonder Woman, who is expected to be introduced in the DCU soon. While there are no details yet on which project she will make a debut, there is a lot of hope that a talented actress will be cast, especially in the aftermath of Gal Gadot's polarizing performance in the DCEU.
Why Simu Liu Wants Melissa Barrera to Play Wonder Woman in the DCU

In a recent interview with JoBo, Liu expressed his interest in seeing Barrera take the role of Wonder Woman in James Gunn's DCU franchise.
As everyone knows, the actor is known for playing Shang-Chi in the MCU. Still, interestingly, he is petitioning for his The Copenhagen Test co-star to be part of the rival superhero franchise instead.
He cited the actress's dedication to stunt work as the primary reason why she is worthy of portraying DCU's Diana Prince.
"She really pushes herself. I don’t know who might be listening to this interview, James Gunn or anybody else out there. But I think she really pushes herself," the actor said. "There were a couple of moments during stunt training where I was like, ‘That’s Wonder Woman-esque.’ I’m just throwing it out there."
Barrera, who was sitting beside Liu in the interview, smiled as the actor was singing his praises on her stunt work and clamor to see her as the DCU's Wonder Woman.
So far, Gunn has not commented on the fan casting surrounding Barrera as Wonder Woman. As DCU fans know, several actresses are already being rumored or fan-cast for the coveted role.
What to Expect in Wonder Woman's DCU Debut
Last year, it was reported that DC Studios had tapped Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira to work on the screenplay for the untitled Wonder Woman movie that is in early stages of development.
They are also working on the Paradise Lost TV series, a political drama that will explore the power struggles on the all-female island of Themyscira before the birth of Wonder Woman. So far, it remains in development stages with no production date in sight yet.
For now, fans should wait for news and updates regarding the long-awaited debut of Wonder Woman in the DCU in the near future.
