The former YouTube influencer Jake Paul came up against legendary Mike Tyson live on Friday, November 15. As unexpected as it sounded, subscribers still tuned in to see what all the fuss was about.
As customers joined the live streaming of their heavily anticipated fight at AT&T Stadium, fans complained throughout the broadcast about how much their streaming platform froze or crashed.
However, despite the implication of the streaming failure, Netflix CTO Elizabeth Stone recently addressed why the fight's premiere is still a 'streaming success' for the company.

According to DownDetector, Netflix user complaints skyrocketed from 406 at 7:27 PM TY to a shocking 99,876 by 9:42 PM ET on November 18, Monday.
Several were constantly getting buffered issues, while others wrote they had no audio, among other streaming problems they encountered.
"This unprecedented scale created many technical challenges, which the launch team tackled brilliantly by prioritizing stability of the stream for the majority of viewers," Stone addressed to employees (via Bloomberg).
Stone added that while Netflix doesn't want to "dismiss the poor experience", she stated that Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson's 'crashing' premiere is "still considered a huge success", especially since 60 million households were in on the fight.
27-year-old Jake Paul defeated 58-year-old former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson via unanimous decision after the two went for eight 2-minute full rounds.
