Wednesday Addams may not look like a sentimental person, but she actually considers her friendship with Enid Sinclair important. That’s why ever since she saw the vision of Enid dying because of her, she knew she had to find a way to save her.

Given that Wednesday and Enid have long been at odds with one another, episode 6, titled Woe Thyself, showed both sides a different perspective: being in each other’s shoes.

WARNING: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Wednesday season 2, so proceed with caution.

How Did Wednesday and Enid Switch Bodies in Season 2 in the First Place?

As if Freakier Friday couldn’t get any weirder, the sixth episode of season 2, part 2, had Rosaline Rotwood (played by Lady Gaga) pulling a body swap trick on the two Nevermore students. The episode couldn’t be more perfect in shedding light on each other’s lives.

While Wednesday found out that Enid has to spend the rest of her life alone in the woods once her Alpha Wolf transformation is complete, Enid found out that Wednesday had been trying to save her from her premature death the entire time.

But don’t mistake this fun episode as anything lighthearted; there’s a catch—Wednesday and Enid have to switch bodies before their 24 hours are up, or else they’ll catch their death, such is the cautionary tale the last duo faced against Rotwood’s grave.

According to Rotwood, they can only “reclaim their own flesh” by dawn  by being “willing to die in this borrowed skin.” It’s a huge price to pay due to Wednesday’s attempt at gaining back her powers. So, how did they end up saving one another?

The duo returned to Rotwood’s grave and confessed what they liked about being one another. To Enid, she admired Wednesday’s fearlessness. She understood why she tends to push her mother away.

To Wednesday, Enid’s “quiet strength” doesn’t mean she’s weak. If anything, she underestimated her friend’s kindness and courage when it comes to helping other people, and that Wednesday would make sure Enid would never be alone in her Alpha Wolf journey.

Even as Wednesday and Enid had finally switched back, the Addams’ dark darling’s curse continues.

The headstone, which, as Wednesday’s spirit guide, Principal Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) pointed out, now has the surname ‘Addams’ on it, meaning that now, because of her actions, “An Addams must die.”

It would seem that Wednesday had officially prevented Enid’s untimely death, but now she has risked her own family’s fate. The question is, which Addams family member does the grave belong to?

Unfortunately, this remains to be seen as you’ll have to watch the next episode yourselves on Netflix. For now, stay tuned for more Wednesday stories like this.
