The premiere episode of Wednesday season 2 addressed the off-screen exit of Percy Hynes White's character, Xavier Thorpe.

Last year, it was announced that Hynes White wouldn't be returning in the hit Netflix show's sophomore season. No reason was given regarding why he was let go, but fans speculated that it might be related to the sexual assault allegations against him that surfaced after the first season was released (which he has denied).

During the season 2 premiere episode of Wednesday, Wednesday Addams received a special delivery from Xavier, which contained a creepy painting of a red-eyed raven and a special note.

"I tried texting, but I guess you lost the phone I gave you. Consider this my goodbye gift. The image suddenly flashed in my head. Don’t ask me how I know or what it means, but it’s connected to you, I’m sure. Who’s Wednesday Addams without a mystery to solve, right?" Xavier wrote.

Co-showrunner Alfred Gough confirmed to TVLine that "we have seen the last of him" and fans should not expect any cameo from him again.

He explained that Xavier is now "at a boarding school we mentioned in Season 1, Reichenbach, which is like the European version of Nevermore."

So far, Hynes White has still not commented on his exit from Wednesday, ever since it was officially announced last year.

What to Expect in Wednesday Addams' Romantic Life in Wednesday Season 2

While Xavier is no longer in the picture, the second season is still exploring Wednesday Addams' romantic life through the character of Tyler (played by Hunter Doohan).

Gough teased that the romantic tension between Wednesday and Tyler will continue in the new season.

"There’s definitely something there, and he can definitely twist the knife in terms of that relationship. Wednesday went down the path of romance sort of reluctantly in Season 1, and she paid the price for that, so she’s closing the door on that avenue of her adolescence for the time being. But when she gets together with Tyler, sparks always fly," he said.
