SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Only Murders in the Building season 4 finale, so proceed with caution.
Who Killed Sazz in Only Murders in the Building Season 4?
While fans were led to believe that Sazz's murderer might have been targetting Charles instead of her through the apartment, Only Murders in the Building season 4 episode 10 titled My Best Friend's Wedding unraveled the truth.
The killer had been targeting Sazz, not Charles. The killer was indeed Sazz's protégé, who was soon uncovered to be Marshall. The same protégé killed Glen Stubbins to keep his identity under the radar.
However, Marshall's motive for killing Sazz involved the jealousy of the student towards his own master.
Although Sazz taught him everything he needed to know about his stuntman career, Marshall couldn't have fathomed the idea Sazz wrote down for the script of Only Murders movie.
So, he took matters into his own hands and stole Sazz's script. He got a deal. But when Sazz decides to confront him, he kills her.
By the end of season 4 though, Marshall doesn't get what he wants at all.
Who Killed Marshall aka Sazz's Murderer? Revenge Story Explained
Surprise, surprise. Just before Marshall can turn the tables on the trio after getting his story straight, someone from Charles' apartment shoots him with a sniper: Jan, aka one of Sazz's exes from Only Murders in the Building season 3.
Jan miraculously escaped, as introduced in Only Murders in the Building season 4 episode 2. The first thing she did was find Charles upon hearing what happened to Sazz.
She admitted to Charles at the time, "I loved her" and that Sazz was the reason why Jan had yet to kill him "despite hours of fantasizing."
By the end of the second episode, Jan supposedly disappeared into his closet to run from the police's radar. Ever since the last encounter, fans have yet to find where Jan ran off to — until the season 4 finale showed up.
While all seemed resolved in the end, Jan still got arrested, leaving the mystery to fans whether we'll still get to see her return at some point in season 5.
