Paul Rudd's other fan-favorite character Glen Stubbins was shockingly killed in the recently aired episode 9 of Only Murders in the Building. The number one burning question that viewers have is who killed him.
The final moments of last week's episode suggest that Glen might have a larger role in the murder of Sazz, and the trio investigates whether he indeed has some connection.
This article includes spoilers for Only Murders in the Building season 4 episode 9, so proceed with caution.
Ben Stubbins Dies in Only Murders in the Building Season 4 Episode 9
In episode 9 of Only Murders in the Building season 4 titled "Escape from Planet Klongo," the trio learned from another stuntman that Glen replaced Sazz's protege after he was fired in Project Ronkonkoma.
This immediately crosses off Glen as the suspect in Sazz's murder. The trio learned that Ron Howard directed the film so they tried to reach out to him to ask about Sazz's mysterious protege.
The trio acted as background actors to enter the set of Howard's movie. Mabel learned that Glen woke up from the coma so she left and went to the hospital to ask him about the protege's identity.
However, when Mabel arrived at the hospital, Glen was already killed. He was smothered with a pillow by a mysterious figure.
Meanwhile, Oliver and Charles eventually met Howard in a restaurant (after they were fired from the set). The director told them that the protege's name was Rex Bailey and showed them a photo.
Who Killed Glen Stubbins?
Marshall arrived at Mabel's apartment to discuss some script changes in the movie. Mabel invited him inside. After all, they have crossed him off as a potential suspect in a previous episode.
Meanwhile, Oliver and Charles realize in the photo that Howard showed them that Rex Bailey is actually Marshall.
While discussing the script, Mabel discovered Sazz's box of beers that she was supposed to bring on the day she was murdered.
Inside, she found the original draft of the Only Murders in the Building movie. Sazz is credited as the writer. Mabel confronted Marshall about it.
It was also shown in a brief flashback moment that it was Marshall who smothered Glen with a pillow in the hospital, revealing him as the one who killed the season 4 fan-favorite.
With this revelation, it puts Marshall as the leading suspect in the murder of Sazz as we head into the season finale next week.
