This is the first time that Pixar recast one of the major characters in the Toy Story series since Blake Clark took over the role of Slinky Dog in the third movie from Jim Varney, who passed away after the second film's release.
It remains unknown whether Bergman and Vocino's casting is permanent for the rest of the franchise in upcoming projects.

In Toy Story 5, the toys are back, and this time, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang's jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad, a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie.
