Before you join Chris on the magical journey of The Polar Express, you might be wondering whether the film is still available to stream in 2025 and where to find it.
Fortunately, it's still available to stream! Here's where to watch The Polar Express online and how to use a top VPN for streaming, such as ExpressVPN and VeePN, if you're unable to find them in your region or on your preferred streaming platform.
Where to Watch The Polar Express Online
Rediscovering their faith in Christmas and what it means for their childhood is the main theme of The Polar Express, which unquestionably transformed the film into one of the most magical animated movies there is for kids to watch during the holidays.
Despite its seemingly eerie and Uncanny Valley-esque animation, the message refuses to get lost in translation, especially among young viewers during Christmastime, and fret not, it's actually quite easy to find online.

It's available to watch on plenty of streaming platforms, such as Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video. But if these streamers are not available in your region, we've got you covered!
How to Watch The Polar Express with a VPN Service
A VPN is your answer if you're struggling to find The Polar Express and similar movies on your preferred streaming platform or in your region. That's because a VPN bypasses geo-restrictions and convinces the network that you're within the same country where the exclusive content is available.
For this, and online security in general, ExpressVPN and VeePN are two of the best options.
Lots of Servers

Budget-friendly

ExpressVPN really shines with its massive network of 3,000+ servers in 105 countries, making it a go-to choice if you want consistently fast, stable, and hassle-free connections no matter where you are.
VeePN, by contrast, keeps things simple and wallet-friendly, offering 2,600+ servers and pricing that starts at just $1.99 per month.
Both VPNs do what they’re supposed to do well, but the right pick comes down to your priorities. If top-tier performance is non-negotiable, ExpressVPN is hard to beat. If you’re after solid protection without stretching your budget, VeePN makes a strong case.
Either way, it’s worth taking a closer look at both using the links above.
Other VPN Services to Consider
If ExpressVPN and VeePN are not for you, there are other VPN services worth checking out:
- NordVPN: Offers strong security and provides excellent server speeds.
- Surfshark: Unlimited device connections at an affordable price.
- CyberGhost: Known for its fast speed and reliable server networks across countries.
- Private Internet Access: Known for strong privacy features and an affordable, feature-rich VPN service.
Beyond giving you access to streaming-exclusive content from the comfort of home, VPNs provide a range of powerful benefits.
They boost your online privacy by masking your IP address, making it harder for ISPs, advertisers, and other third parties to track your activity. They also enhance your security by encrypting your internet connection, and in some cases, can even help reduce lag when connecting to distant servers.
In short, using a VPN whenever you're online is a smart habit, not just something to switch on when you’re settling in to watch movies like The Polar Express from home.
Will There Be a The Polar Express 2 in the Works?

Considering the amount of time it took Incredibles 2 and Zootopia 2 to return to the big screens, The Polar Express 2 will likely face the same battle. In recent years, even the likes of Blade Runner and Beetlejuice 2 arrived over 30 years later.
Regarding news about a potential sequel, there was one back in 2024, when The Polar Express producer Gary Goetzman revealed he and Tom Hanks, both of whom played multiple roles in the film, had been mulling making a sequel:
"Listen, I'd love to. I'd love to do a sequel to Where the Wild Things Are. There are a lot of things that we've done, if it established itself, branded itself, those movies, studios want another one," Goetzman told Comicbook last year, before taking into consideration the aspects they'd have to deal with before that happens.
According to Goetzman, there are many processes to consider: "Whose artistic property would that be? Would that be?' It's just not like, 'Hey, let's go do another free sailing! So, they all take time, and that's okay because we don't mind things going slowly. But that is trying to be worked out now, for sure, The Polar Express 2. Yes."
However, it's been nearly a year since that announcement happened, and not a single detail about the progression, the cast members, creatives, or even the director of the original, Robert Zemeckis, has been confirmed yet, which implies two things: they have either been taking their time, as the producer said in the interview, or have fully cancelled the sequel.
