As the year comes to a close, so does the holiday season, and what better way to spend it than binge-watching all the Home Alone movies? And we're not just talking about Kevin McCallister's adventure of getting lost in New York — there are six movies in total for the franchise!

Here's where to watch it online and how to use a top VPN for streaming, such as ExpressVPN and VeePN, if you're unable to find the show in your region or on your preferred streaming platform.

Where to Watch All the Home Alone Movies

As of 2025, there are a total of six movies in the Home Alone franchise, all of which are available to stream exclusively on Disney+. While the first two films explore Macaulay Culkin's Kevin McCallister, the third movie onwards started switching things up.

  • Home Alone (1990)
  • Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)
  • Home Alone 3 (1997)
  • Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House 2002)
  • Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012)
  • Home Sweet Home Alone (2021)

The third film starred Alex D. Linz as Alex Pruitt, who is left alone at home after getting the chicken pox during the holiday season. As he spends his time on his trusty telescope, he discovers that his neighborhood is in grave danger from burglars trying to find a particular toy car with a hidden $10 million missile chip.

Home Alone 4, on the other hand, tried to bring back Kevin, only to get a different cast for the titular kid, with Mike Weinberg taking the role. This time, the fourth flick shows how Kevin copes with the fact that his parents got divorced and that his father is enamored with a new love interest.

As if it couldn't get worse, the franchise added The Holiday Heist, which is technically redundant, considering what the first 2 Home Alone movies introduced.

The most recent one, Home Sweet Home Alone, follows Max Mercer, who gets accidentally left behind on a family vacation, and is left to fend for himself while home alone from his neighbors, who are trying to steal back a valuable heirloom they thought he had stolen.

There's a lot to the Home Alone franchise, some of it great, some of it not so much. Regardless, it's worth giving the films a watch during the holidays, and Disney+ is the place to do so. But what if it's not available in your region? Here's how you can gain access with less hassle.

How to Watch Home Alone with a VPN Service

A VPN is your answer if you're struggling to find Home Alone movies on your preferred streaming platform or in your region. That's because a VPN bypasses geo-restrictions and convinces the network that you're within the same country where the exclusive content is available.

In our opinion, ExpressVPN and VeePN are two of the best options.

ExpressVPN is particularly strong, offering over 3,000 servers in 105 countries, and costs just $3.49 a month. Alternatively, VeePN has over 2,600 servers and costs just $1.99 per month, making it a slightly more budget-friendly choice.

Here's how to get started with a VPN:

Step 1: Sign Up

  • Select a VPN, price plan, and start your subscription, then download the app of your preferred VPN service.

Step 2: Connect

  • Navigate the app and explore connecting to different servers located in the US, the UK, and elsewhere, depending on what you're watching.

Step 3: Stream

  • Go to your designated streaming platform, log in, and you'll be able to watch movies and shows outside your region.

Other VPN Options to Consider

If ExpressVPN and VeePN are not for you, there are other VPN services worth checking out:

  • NordVPN: Offers strong security and provides excellent server speeds.
  • Surfshark: Unlimited device connections at an affordable price.
  • CyberGhost: Known for its fast speed and reliable server networks across countries.
  • Private Internet Access: Known for strong privacy features and an affordable, feature-rich VPN service.

Beyond providing access to streaming-exclusive content from the comfort of your own home, VPNs offer several other significant benefits.

Firstly, they enhance data privacy by masking your IP address, preventing monitoring by ISPs, advertisers, and other potentially exploitative or malicious entities. VPNs also strengthen online security by encrypting your internet connection, and can help reduce lag when connecting to new servers.

Ultimately, using a VPN anytime you're online is a smart move, so don't just switch one on when it's time to hunker down and watch all episodes of Home Alone (and other similar movies for the holidays)!

Why You Might Not Have Known the Other Home Alone Movies Existed

To be fair, one of the most memorable parts of the first bit of the Home Alone franchise was the fact that the 1990 original had a compelling cast with undeniable chemistry. Plus, the titular kid, Kevin McCallister, is up to no good.

Overall, the first three films lifted the franchise, but the latter three didn't, especially since the storyline didn't hit close to home.

It's one of those common strategies where they had to strike while the iron was hot: 20th Century Fox (which was later acquired by Disney) saw potential in one of their goldmine IPs and tried taking advantage of it, but to no avail.

As for whether fans can expect additions to the roster, there are no other official Home Alone movies in the making for now.
