Will There Be an F1: The Movie Sequel?
So far, there are no official plans yet to do a sequel to F1: The Movie or turn it into a new cinematic franchise.
In a November 2025 interview, director Joseph Kosinski expressed interest in continuing Sonny Hayes' adventure, and there have been early talks about whether they will push through with a sequel.
- "I personally would love to see what other adventures Sonny Hayes has in his future," he said. "I’d love to see what’s happened with the APXGP team and Joshua Pearce, and see how his career goes, so I would love to be able to tell another chapter in that story, and it’s something we just started kinda dreaming about, and it’s fun to be in this stage of imagining what that might be."
Adding to this, Apple's senior vice president of Services, Eddy Cue, and Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali discussed a potential sequel to F1: The Movie during the inaugural press day for Apple TV.
- "Stay tuned. We’re going to tell you something more in the future. Never say never. But we need to digest more the success of this movie because it was something unique."
