About The Dangers in My Heart
The Dangers in My Heart is based on a school comedy manga written and illustrated by Norio Sakura.
In The Dangers in My Heart, we follow Kyoutaro Ichikawa, a normal-looking middle school student who secretly dreams of disrupting the lives of his more well-adjusted classmates.
Anna Yamada, the class idol, is one of Ichikawa's most often thought-of targets.
Ichikawa spends most of his time alone in the library but soon finds that Yamada frequents there, too. There, he gets to see her goofy side.
Thankfully, the anime departs from its problematic premise right then and there, dissolving into a cute school romance anime.
Where to Start Reading The Dangers in My Heart After the Anime
Those turning to the manga for an Ichikawa and Yamada fix after the anime ends can start from around Chapter 58 if they really want to skip what the anime has covered already.
That being said, fans of the manga highly recommend starting at the beginning.
This is first and foremost because the anime has skipped some manga chapters, and even if they don't seem like the most important right now, they may well come to play a role later on.
For those who are really busy, we expect the anime to cover up until Volume 4 of the manga, hence the recommendation to start at Volume 5, or Chapter 58.
How Many Chapters and Volumes Does The Dangers in My Heart Have?
As of writing, The Dangers in My Heart has 8 volumes and 120 chapters. Therefore, if you start from the beginning, it isn't a particularly hard manga to get into.
Many manga series, especially some shounen works, can end up outliving their welcome or at least becoming unapproachable to newcomers, as they go on for hundreds upon hundreds of chapters.
In comparison, The Dangers in My Heart isn't particularly intimidating. If you enjoyed the anime, you can very easily catch up on the manga in a few days or weeks.
However, bear in mind that the manga is also currently ongoing, so you will have to wait for new chapters and for The Dangers in My Heart Season 2 to find out if Ichikawa is going to confess his feelings.
