Arnold Schwarzenegger is making his debut in a TV role on Netflix. Even though the 75-year-old action star has made several movies, FUBAR will be his first lead role in a TV show.
The Terminator star will be playing a role that was loosely inspired by his 1994 film, True Lies. Here's what you need to know about FUBAR.
When Is FUBAR Coming Out on Netflix?
The cast and crew of FUBAR started filming the show in Antwerp, Belgium in April 2022. They also filmed in Toronto until the show wrapped up filming in September 2022.
After spending a few months in post-production, Netflix has set a date for the show's release. Arnold Schwarzenegger's FUBAR will be coming out on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
The show will have a total of eight episodes, each episode has a runtime of around 50 minutes.
What Is FUBAR Story About?
FUBAR's official synopsis on Netflix reads:
“When a father and daughter learn that they’ve each secretly been working as CIA Operatives for years, they realize their entire relationship has been a lie, and they truly don’t know one another at all. Forced to team up as partners, FUBAR tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, fantastic action, and humor.”
As mentioned, the story of FUBAR is loosely based on Schwarzenegger's True Lies movie, which came out in 1994. Schwarzenegger refers to FUBAR as his next "big action comedy like True Lies."
"Everywhere I go, people ask me when I'm going to do another big action comedy like True Lies. Well, here it is. FUBAR will kick your ass and make you laugh -- and not just for two hours. You get a whole season."
