After Stone Ocean, the next JoJo series will be Steel Ball Run. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki’s well-acclaimed JoJo series.

It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2004 and in Ultra Jump from 2005 to 2011.

Steel Ball Run takes place in the 1890s in the United States and follows our main protagonist, Johnny Joestar, who is a paraplegic and an ex-jockey.

He is joined by Gyro Zepelli, a master of the mystical art of "spin," which he then teaches to Johnny.

Soon after, like the other Joestars before him, Johnny develops his own stand, Tusk.

Together, Johnny and Gyro compete in a mad-dash race all across the United States for a chance to win 50 million dollars in the titular Steel Ball Run.

Funny Valentine, the series' main antagonist, serves as the detestable villain of the story, along with his racers.

Despite being a new series separate from the original universe, Steel Ball Run retains the core concept of stands as a form of a character’s power.

To cut the long story short, Steel Ball Run and Stone Ocean are unrelated. However, the ending of Stone Ocean is what prompted Hirohiko Araki to create Steel Ball Run.

Stone Ocean’s universe-resetting ending brought out opportunities to create new stories and new timelines outside of the original six parts of the series.

So, in a sense, Parts 6 and 7 are not connected to each other, but the former caused the production of the latter.

The good news is that Part 8 will be connected to Part 7.

The end of Stone Ocean has left fans wanting more JoJo animation goodness.

People are wondering if Steel Ball Run will be animated or if it will be the end of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series.

There has been no announcement of Part 7 being animated, nor have there been any updates from the associated production teams or Araki himself.

Fans are also troubled by the fact that animating Steel Ball Run means animating horses, which wouldn’t be a problem if animating active horses were cheap.

On the bright side, with Netflix backing up the JoJo series, animation funding may not be that big of a problem.

Naokatsu Tsukada, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure director, also stated that they would like to adapt all available parts of the manga, including Steel Ball Run and JoJolion.

Steel Ball Run is the next series of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure after Stone Ocean.

It is a unique and fresh series that is not associated with earlier parts and all of Dio’s shenanigans.

With the JoJo series’ popularity, it may only be a matter of time before Steel Ball Run gets released, but in the meantime, the manga is available to read.
