Swifties will surely be waiting for Taylor Swift’s debut appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, on Wednesday, August 13, after she teased her brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl, in a preview clip.

The pop superstar was officially announced as a surprise guest on Travis and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast in a flirty teaser.

By the looks of it, even bigger surprises await when the new episode finally drops.

What is Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl?

In addition to the flirty exchange between Taylor and Travis teaser, a preview clip also showed the multiple Grammy Award winner announcing her new album.

“So I wanted to show you something,” she said, while showing out a mint green briefcase with the T.S. logo on it. “This is my brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”

Jason couldn’t help but scream with excitement with the big reveal. “TS 12,” Travis added, referring to his girlfriend’s 12th album.

Before the announcement, Taylor’s group released a countdown clock to 12:12 a.m. on Aug. 12 on her website

However, the album cover was blurred out, and it might probably be showed on New Heights podcast’s Wednesday episode.

Though the track titles on Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl album remain under wraps, the singer-songwriter has been dropping major clues about it.

There are theories that her newly curated Spotify playlist, titled And, Baby, That’s Show Business for You, features the producers behind the project.

The setlist includes hits like “Bad Blood,” “Blank Space,” “All You Had To Do Was Stay,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” and “Wildest Dreams” — all produced by Max Martin and Shellback (aka Karl Schuster).

The duo played a key role in Taylor’s transition from country to pop with her fourth studio album, Red, released in 2012.

If these theories are true, she may have taken a break from working with longtime collaborators Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner.

Mysterious billboards have also appeared in Nashville and New York City following her announcement.

Taylor’s new album comes after she successfully purchased the masters to her first six studio albums — Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and Reputation — in May.

While celebrating ownership of “the memories, the magic, the madness, every single era, [and her] entire life’s work,” including her concert films, music videos, photography, album art, and unreleased songs, she promised to release the vault tracks.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version), but Taylor revealed she has yet to finish re-recording her 2017 album.

“Those two albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about,” she wrote in a handwritten letter shared on Instagram. The other album she referenced was her 2006 debut, Taylor Swift.

Scooter Braun originally bought the rights to Taylor’s first six albums for $300 million in 2019 before Shamrock Capital acquired them a year later.

While fans wait for the re-recordings, they’ll be treated to something more like a new album. The Life of a Showgirl is now available to pre-order on TaylorSwift.com.
