Taylor Swift recently sent fans into a frenzy when she donned a snake necklace in her video message during the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025 on Monday, March 17, seemingly hinting that the highly anticipated Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is about to drop.

Reputation is Swift’s sixth studio album, the rights to which were transferred to American businessman Scooter Braun when he and his company, Ithaca Holdings, acquired Big Machine Records in 2019. The LP was originally under Big Machine Records.

To regain ownership of her masters, Swift announced that she would re-record her first six studio albums. So far, Reputation and her self-titled 2006 debut album are the only ones left to be re-recorded for her to fully own her musical catalog.

With predictions that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is set to be released this year, here are 10 hints that Swift is about to drop this highly anticipated re-recording.

1. The Snake Necklace

Despite appearing rather simple in her video message after her record-breaking Eras Tour was honored as the "Tour of the Century" at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025—wearing a plain, long-sleeved black sweater, a plaid Miu Miu miniskirt, and striking red lipstick—fans couldn’t help but notice her slim silver choker, which appeared to be shaped like a snake.

For starters, the snake has become the unofficial symbol of Reputation ever since Kim Kardashian compared Travis Kelce’s girlfriend to a slithering serpent in 2016. Swift embraced the imagery, frequently wearing python prints and snake-inspired jewelry during the album’s release.

She even featured a gigantic inflatable cobra onstage while touring for Reputation. Thus, seeing Swift wearing the choker now seems to suggest that a re-release is imminent

2. The Album Removal from Spotify

Another hint Swifties noticed was the removal of Reputation and Swift’s debut album from Spotify in January.

Though the two albums have now returned to her discography page, fans quickly theorized that the mysterious disappearance then could mean the singer-songwriter was preparing to release the re-recordings soon.

Anyhow, there were also theories that they were only removed from the platform by mistake or a bug.

Whatever the reason is, such actions have previously preceded the announcement of her re-recorded albums. So, no one can blame the excited fans.

3. The Registration of Look What You Made Me Do

After completing the Eras Tour in December 2024, Swift reportedly registered her 2017 hit Look What You Made Me Do, which is part of the Reputation, on Shazam.

Only artists are said to be able to register their songs on the platform, so this may mean that the re-recording of Reputation may finally come to fruition.

Some fans also stressed that it was the same thing the 35-year-old star did when she released Love Story and Wildest Dreams.

So, it is widely believed that she will not register the song for nothing.

4. Eras Tour Setlist Choices

Redditors couldn’t ignore the fact that Swift performed every track from Reputation as a “surprise song” when she kicked off the Eras Tour—except for I Did Something Bad.

This led them to believe it was intentional, possibly as a nod to a designated “era,” likely Reputation (Taylor’s Version). A similar pattern occurred when Swift refrained from performing New Romantics until she announced the re-recording of 1989.

5. Wardrobe’s Color Palette

Before the release of Speak Now and 1989 Taylor Versions, Swift changed the color of her Eras Tour outfits to hint at an upcoming album announcement.

During her November 24 concert in São Paulo, Brazil, she donned a silver jacket when she performed The Man and a silver dress during her Fearless era.

Later, she sported a pink gown that featured black and gold embellishments for her performance of Speak Now.

It is good to note that black, gold, and silver are Reputation’s signature colors, seemingly hinting at its nearing release.

6. Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version) in the Trailer of Amazon Prime Video’s Wilderness.

In August 2023, Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version) from the unreleased Reputation (Taylor’s
Version) was teased in a trailer for the then-upcoming Amazon Prime Video series Wilderness, which premiered in September of that year.

It was later used as the show’s theme song, hinting that one of the world’s best-selling music artists is actively working on her re-recording.

7. Performance Imagery

Look What You Made Me Do was part of Swift’s set list of the Eras Tour and performed it while being surrounded by her backup singers and dancers.

While their performance seemed ordinary at first, it became extraordinary when the dancers, dressed as various past versions of the Grammy Award winner, appeared trapped inside large clear boxes.

Before the announcement of the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), fans noticed Swift pounded the box with the dancer dressed in a Speak Now-era purple halter dress.

Hence, with the use of this performance imagery, it looks like Reputation will be the next to be re-recorded.

8. A Snake-Like Motion

Non-Swift fans may find this obsessing, but Swifties could not resist noticing the snake-like motion she did when she waved goodbye to the viewers when she descended onto the Wembley Stadium floor during her Eras Tour concert in London in August 2024.

Her huge followers theorized that it was another hint that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) was coming soon, especially since she is known for her use of “Easter eggs.”

To add more fuel to the fire, the London stop of her tour coincided with the seventh anniversary of when she blacked out all of her social media accounts and websites only to return by posting clips of snakes three days later, teasing the ever-successful sixth album.

9. A Snippet of Delicate (Taylor’s Version)

Look What You Made Me Do is not the only song from Reputation that already has a Taylor Version. A snippet of Delicate (Taylor’s Version) was featured in the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty.

This just proved that the much-awaited album is already in development and may be nearing its release.

10. Revisiting Reputation

Swift earlier teased the release and discussed her re-recording journey in her TIME Magazine’s 2023 Person of the Year interview.

At the time, she admitted her plans to review Reputation and revealed that the upcoming vault tracks would be “fire.”

In fact, she even considered the re-recording project like a mythical quest, saying, “I’m collecting Horcruxes.”

“I’m collecting infinity stones. Gandalf’s voice is in my head every time I put out a new one,” she continued. “For me, it is a movie now.”

While these hints have sparked widespread speculation, Swift has yet to officially announce the release of Reputation (Taylor’s Version). So, while fans patiently await, they are staying vigilant for the next clues she will drop.
