Who is Nat in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live?
Nat, who is played by The Blacklist and FBI star Matthew Jeffers, is one of the first new characters to be introduced in the spinoff series. He also happens to be the first character in the franchise who has dwarfism.
Jeffers previously described Nat on Comicbook.com as a "fully fleshed out character" who is a pyrotechnic. In other terms, Nat can wield homemade weapons and is a jack-of-all-trades that the traveling caravan can't afford to lose.
He made his The Walking Dead debut in the first episode, however, episode two instantly decided his fate.

What Happened to Nat in the Latest Episode?
There is no one safe when The Walking Dead exists.
In the second episode of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live titled Gone, while Michonne and her husband reunite in the series, Nat is standing in the background, officially having met the partner Michonne has been searching for.
However, in the middle of their happy reunion, Nat gets a quick shot by one of the CRM soldiers right in his chest, rendering him dead as he plopped to the ground. But does this mean he really is dead?

Does This Mean Nat is Dead in the Series?
The short answer is yes, unfortunately. However, even though Nat is a short-lived character, Jeffers describes his death as "painful but poetic."
Recently speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Jeffers lays down the ground: he "wasn't certain" about Nat's fate when he first got the job. He only received the script after signing on for The Ones Who Live, after all.
"I think that it was really well-written that Nat helped Michonne get to this point [of meeting Rick]," Jeffers explained, "And when he knew that that point had arrived, he realized that he had done his mission."
Meanwhile, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live airs at 9 PM ET/PT on AMC.
