Yes, you read that right. The Walking Dead is getting another spin-off series. With so many spin-off shows, let's find out where the upcoming The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live fits in the series' timeline.
Where Does The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Fit into the Timeline?
The original The Walking Dead series ran for a total of 11 seasons. The show finally ended on November 20, 2022, with a total of 177 episodes.
After the original series ended, AMC announced its plans to release more spin-off shows based on the surviving characters of the show. To date, there are a total of six spin-off series.
One of the shows, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, is scheduled to be released soon.
So, before the show premieres, let's talk about The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live and where it fits in the general timeline.
As explained by show co-creator Scott M. Gimple, the events in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live take place after the events of The Walking Dead season 9 finale.
This episode is where Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (played by Danai Gurira) get separated.
After Michonne and Daryl Dixon's (played by Norman Reedus) attempt to look for Rick, it looks like he is gone for good. Michonne went her separate way in season 10 to look for her husband by herself.
But as shown in the series finale of The Walking Dead season 11, Rick is alive and well. After the helicopter incident, Rick was brought to a Civic Republic institution.
It is up to Michonne to save him, which is where The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live takes place in the timeline.

Which Characters Does The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Focus On?
As mentioned, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live highlights the love story of Rick and Michonne.
The show will likely give avid fans a glimpse of what happened to the two after they were separated in season 9.
It will also give viewers a look into how they managed to survive all this time and how they will get reunited once again.
Gurira has signed up to be a co-creator and writer of the spin-off series, so she'll have first-hand knowledge of how to proceed with Rick and Michonne's love story.
Set for a release on Sunday, February 25, on AMC and AMC+, the six-episode series was previously planned to be called Rick and Michonne.
In an interview, Pollyanna McIntosh (who plays Jadis in the series) talked about the story of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
"It was always going to be Rick's story with Jadis and Michonne. Certainly, I knew it would be Jadis and Rick. And then, of course, I figured you've got to have Michonne in there. And because that hadn't happened in World Beyond, I knew that we'd still have this coming. So it was always that. It wasn't a question for me when we wrapped World Beyond as to whether we'd be doing The Ones Who Live or not. It was always going to be the plan, because we want to see Rick, right?
The question I get asked the most in my life for the last four and a half years is, 'What have you done with Rick?'"
McIntosh will also reprise her role as Jadis in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
