Westworld has always impressed viewers with its gorgeous parks where the hosts live throughout their existence. However, Season 3 is finally bringing Dolores and the other hosts into the real world and it's just as stunning as the parks we have already visited. So what is the inspiration behind the HBO show's new world? Series co-creator Jonathan Nolan admits that it had a lot to do with Blade Runner.
Nolan recently unveiled the new trailer for Westworld Season 3 at the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con. In addition to that, he shared an interesting story about how his brother and fellow filmmaker Chris Nolan influenced him into creating dystopia for the series.
Nolan continued by stating that the dystopia in Westworld Season 3 is just as dark as the one seen in Blade Runner despite its sleek look.
The dark and gritty truth can be glimpsed in the Season 3 trailer but there is little doubt we'll see more of the Blade Runner influence once the show returns to HBO.
Westworld Season 3 is set to premiere on HBO in 2020.
