Westworld 2 was a phenomenal season for television, and everyone is curious about what to expect with Season 3. As it turns out, production is set to start soon, but we are getting a fewer number of episodes this time around.
According to Revenge of the Fans, Westworld 3 is set to start production this coming March 25. It's also said that this season will have 8 episodes instead of the usual 10, but nothing has been officially confirmed by HBO for now so we can take the news with a grain of salt.
We don't really know what fewer episodes mean for the show, but if Game of Thrones is any indication, we should be expecting some high-budget setpieces. The last two seasons of GOT also had to cut down on their episodes but it was probably because they used up a lot of that cash for a dragon attack plus that crazy white walker scene beyond the wall.
Going back to Westworld though, showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have said that there will be a ‘radical shift' when it comes to the story. Seeing that Dolores has found a way to get out of the park, we may get a look of the world outside of Westworld for once. It's also been left ambiguous on whether William is dead or not, and hopefully, the third season gives us a definitive answer instead of having us do an extensive run-around again.
Also, Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul has been cast in a major role, so we have that to look forward to.
No release date has been set for Westworld 3.
