Wednesday Showrunners Reveal Plans For Multiple Seasons

There is no doubt that Netflix shows tend to be renewed for a second season, especially when they end up garnering popularity on the streaming site. Wednesday is no exception, as showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar reveal their plans for multiple seasons!

Speaking with Variety, when asked whether showrunners have an outline prepared in case of a renewal for a second season, Millar was quick to address how much can potentially change and evolve, but as long as the idea of the story remains in which they can keep it going for multiple seasons, it would suffice. Read his full comment below:

“Yeah. For us, it’s always looking at the future, and when we sit down to create a show, it’s looking at multiple seasons, ideally. That’s never expected, but that’s the anticipation that hopefully the show is successful. So you always lay out at least three or four seasons’ worth of potential storylines for the characters. It can evolve and change.”

It is relieving to know that we could potentially be getting more than a season 2 for Wednesday. This second season can open up new opportunities for the show, like new ‘big bads’ and new characters to add to the cast list. Either way, we’ll be surely seeing more of Wednesday and the Addams family again.

Previously, Millar also talked about one other potential storyline for Wednesday Season 2 with TVLine. Aside from having a closer look at the Addams family as a whole, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzman (Gomez Addams), and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), the showrunner teases a more in-depth development among newfound friends.

“The series is really about a girl who sees the world in black and white, and learning there are shades of gray. I think like any relationship or any friendship, it can get complicated by other factors. It’s never going to be smooth sailing. And it’s really her learning to navigate the ups and downs of friendship.”

What do you think about the potential plots this coming Season 2? Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix.
