We Almost Saw a G1 Version of Megatron in Bumblebee

Now that Paramount Pictures has confirmed that Bumblebee is a reboot, it seems like the Transformers franchise is now in a much better place than it was when Michael Bay was helming them. Granted, fans are a bit nervous since a producer stated that they want a sequel to be more Bay-influenced. Yeesh. Since the reboot seems to be more interested in the G1 Transformers, fans are probably sad to know that Megatron almost appeared but was cut.

Director Travis Knight told Entertainment Weekly that there were plans to include Megatron in that awesome opening sequence, but was cut because it would have been costly. Here is Knight's full statement:

There's always the next movie.

Bumblebee should be coming to Blu-Ray very soon.
