I’ll be honest, I haven’t even heard of Seth Everman before, but he has quite the following on Youtube, and this new video of his is just hilariously amazing. Watch Everman recreate every cliché sound from retro video games from background music to achievement sound bits.
Check it out:
This is actually an updated version of the first video that he posted. He makes the same sounds for some parts, but he also makes some new bits for the different types of levels as well as different additions to boss fight music.
Here’s the original video:
I’m not the most seasoned game veteran, but Everman just perfectly captures the cliché background music that I can’t believe I didn’t notice them earlier. It is kind of true that levels in the air usually have flutes in the background and fire levels have a sort of middle-eastern vibe to them.
This video is just great, and I hope he comes up with more like them. I just love watching video game music and finding out the intruments behind the sounds. I’ve probably watched the live action cover of the Crash Bandicoot theme over twenty times.
