With Captain America being "the human embodiment of the American spirit", you can imagine there's a lot of pressure for Chris Evans to be polite and respectful whenever he's in public. What's funny is, during an appearance at ACE Comic-Con, Evans accidentally swore in front of an audience. What's funny is, he actually corrects himself afterwards and says, "Language!"
Watch this:
If you can recall, the "Language" meme comes from Avengers: Age of Ultron when Cap instinctively corrects Tony Stark after he says, "Shit" during the opening scene. This then becomes a running joke for the whole movie where everyone teases Cap whenever someone says a swear word.
Some even speculate that Captain America swearing in Endgame was some kind of character change for Cap, because he starts swearing as well ("Let's get this son of a bitch."). Then of course, I just see it is Cap using tough "soldier speak".
For now, Captain America's arc is definitely done with Avengers: Endgame. He's an old man now, but I'm hoping they find ways to make Evans cameo even for just small roles. I would love to see him in Sam Wilson's first Captain America film, but I think it would also be fun to see some more stock footage of him in Spider-Man: Far from Home.
Catch Chris Evans Captain America one last time in Avengers: Endgame which is still out in theaters.
