Avengers: Endgame may have been nothing short of a critical and commercial success, but it looks like the film wasn't able to impress all of its viewers, including Golden State Warriors player Klay Thompson.
According to a report by The Athletic, Thompson was thoroughly disappointed with Joe and Anthony Russo's latest film, walking out of the cinema partway through the screening. Apparently the Golden State Warriors player decided to leave the cinema two hours in the movie, because the film's "plot didn't interest him" and because the "film was not enough to demand that much time and attention."
The response towards Thompson's walk out has been mixed. While some say that the basketball player's decision not to waste his time with a film he isn't really interested in is a brave thing to do, comic book fans may feel disappointment over the walk-out. Some of Endgame's best moments come during the film's third act, something which Thompson missed after deciding to leave during the two-hour mark of the movie.
Not only did Endgame successfully conclude the Russo Brother's two-part Avengers movie, the film also successfully culminated the last ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"We wanted to bring to a conclusion a series of movies in a way that had never been done before," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told ComicBook.com, "Harry Potter had an ending because there were only so many books. Lord of the Rings, too. But we thought, 22 movies in, wouldn't it be fun to bring some finality to the storyline?"
Right now Marvel fans can only wonder what Marvel Studios has in store for the franchise after Endgame.
Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
