WandaVision and Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer recently opened up about the rumored Scarlet Witch solo movie.
For the past few years, there have been rumors and speculations that Elizabeth Olsen's fan-favorite MCU character will finally get her own solo movie. Fans have been clamoring to see her become the main focus of a theatrical project.
The rumor gained traction recently as a listing appeared online claiming that Marvel Studios is already developing the project with Schaeffer and her fellow WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell reportedly attached.
Jac Schaeffer Reacts to Scarlet Witch Solo Movie Rumor
During a red carpet interview in the premiere event of Agatha All Along, Schaeffer was asked about the rumored Scarlet Witch movie project and when they might begin filming.
While she didn't confirm the existence of the project, she expressed her hope that the Scarlet Witch movie would happen.
"I'm just here hoping for a Scarlet Witch movie, right? We all want Wanda, so fingers crossed that's a thing that happens," the writer said.
When asked if she thinks that the movie will happen, Schaeffer simply responded, "I don't know. I'm in witchy Agatha land right now. I can't quite see through the trees but we're hoping."
It's not surprising that the writer didn't confirm the project as she might be forbidden to address it publicly right now if she is indeed involved as a co-writer of the potential movie.
Despite the lack of confirmation, it is still an encouraging tease for fans as there is an assurance that Schaeffer would be interested in penning the project. After all, she has a proven track record that she is capable of writing a good Scarlet Witch story.
For now, let's wait and see whether Marvel will end up confirming the project so that fans can start officially anticipating the character's long-awaited solo movie.
