In an interview with SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), Terry Matalas explained that, while VisionQuest is intended to be the final entry in the WandaVision trilogy, the series was not developed in that way.

He emphasized that the upcoming show will have its own story surrounding Vision, with some connection to past projects in the MCU, including WandaVision.

"No, not really. I would say, if anything, it’s definitely more of a sequel to WandaVision in a lot of ways. But it really exists on its own," the showrunner said.

"It’s more the Vision story, just because we’re going to dig into so much of who he is in ways that the films and WandaVision couldn’t, including some deeper parts of his origin that may go back even further than what we believed. So it's very much its own entity, but it does obviously touch upon what has come before for this guy."

When it comes to the future of the series, Matalas shared that Vision's story can go for multiple seasons, but it's still up to the executives at Marvel whether it will be renewed.

"The second we wrapped, Paul [Bettany], James [Spader], and I were immediately ready to go into 10 more seasons of whatever this could be. But that's up to Marvel Studios and the television gods as to what happens," he said.

While it remains to be seen whether the series will go beyond one season, the viewership ratings might be the biggest factor for Marvel and Disney+ to decide whether it will stay limited or turn it into an ongoing series.

For now, fans should wait for news and updates regarding its future in the coming weeks or months.
