A new rumor claimed that a former MCU actor has been cast to play Knull in the upcoming film Venom: The Last Dance.
The final trailer of the highly-anticipated Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) installment revealed that the fan-favorite villain is set to make an appearance in the film. However, they didn't unveil who is playing the role.
Fans have been speculating which actor has been cast for the pivotal role. There are a couple of names that have been attached to the rumor such as Norman Reedus and Topher Grace. However, as it turns out, that might not be the case.
Andy Serkis Reportedly Cast as Knull in Venom: The Last Dance
According to a recent scoop from insider Daniel Richtman, Black Panther and The Batman star Andy Serkis is playing Knull in Venom: The Last Dance.
He is also set to appear in other projects after he makes his debut in the upcoming film.
So far, Sony has not confirmed the claims made in the report so take this with a grain of salt.
This won't be Serkis' first rodeo in the Venom franchise since he had behind-the-scenes involvement as the director of Let There Be Carnage.
This is an exciting casting choice for fans since Serkis has proven for the last few decades that he is a talented actor, especially in a motion-capture performance which is the type of work that he will do for Knull.
He also has a lot of experience being part of the comic book world and he is already part of the Venom family which makes him even more qualified to play the fan-favorite villain in the franchise.
Considering the potentially massive implications of his appearance, it is interesting how his presence in the film will play out and what kind of set-up it will tease on the future of SSU.
Venom: The Last Dance is set to arrive in theaters this October 25.
