Riot Games has shared a new teaser for VALORANT today, and it's likely for the next map that will probably be set in Lisbon, Portugal of Omega Earth. The update comes from the official social media accounts of the popular FPS PC game, and it features brand new art of an aquarium, teasing: “Something special’s bubbling up in Valorant,” Riot promises. “Get ready for Aquarium week.”
Riot did not share any additional details about when exactly this Aquarium week will happen or what it will include, but the visuals of the image line-up with what was teased about the next VALORANT map so far.
Various clues within the game have been shared about the eighth VALORANT map, and according to these leaks and teasers, it will be set in Lisbon, Portugal.
Cynprel also pointed out the player card from the latest VALORANT Battle Pass shows Ruben and Oran on the the Eléctrico 27 Tram in Lisbon, Portugal on Omega Earth, and the art features an aquarium:
It looks like the next map will be set in an underground city of Portugal, but Riot hasn't confirmed any details about the map's lore yet.
The new VALORANT map will be most likely be released in Episode 5, Act 1, which will probably launch around July 7, 2022. The last map, Fracture, launched back in September 2021, alongside patch 3.05. A new map is probably long overdue, and fans are excited to get a new one this year.
The teaser also brings up a fan theory regarding the VALORANT Agent, Omen, who's long been theorized to be an octopus in disrguise. The octopus in the center of the Aquaraium tease clearly has the mysterious Agent's distinctive three-eyed mast patterned on its head, so right now, we don't know what this exactly means.
