Bridgerton is finally coming back with season 3 this week, and to mark its return, let’s take a look back at the 10 spiciest Bridgerton scenes from seasons 1 and 2.

As many series fans will agree, the first season was definitely spicier as there were more steamy scenes in the show’s first outing.

That’s not to say season 2 is a wholly safe-for-work affair as that season still had some memorable moments that are in this list.

Spoiler Warning: This article includes spoilers for Bridgerton seasons 1 and 2, so proceed with caution.

  1. Daphne and Simon After Their Wedding (Season 1)

To start things off, there’s Daphne and Simon consummating their marriage during their wedding night. This scene happens in episode 5 of the first season.

Compared to the other scenes on this list, this one isn’t the most risqué, though it still deserves a spot for being rather sweet and memorable. Of course, these two lovebirds take it much farther as the season progresses.

  2. Benedict’s Spicy Art Lesson (Season 2)

As we mentioned, Season 2 has less steamy scenes, though the ones that it does have are quite memorable. One of these is Benedict’s art lesson in season 2 episode 5.

During this scene, Benedict has sex with a model in his art class. Even though it’s short, it’s a memorable scene, especially as there’s some underlying complexity to it.

After all, the model Tessa is interested in the actual art lesson, and she only becomes a model as women are not allowed in the class.

  3. Benedict’s Menage-a-Trois (Season 1)

Next is another Benedict scene, this time from Bridgerton season 1 episode 5. Here, Benedict sees two men in a passionate embrace. While many fans were speculating about Benedict’s sexuality, he did not join the two men.

Instead, he goes to two girls and proceeds to get into bed with them. The scene itself may not be particularly explicit, but two men together followed by a threesome makes it striking, especially in the context of a period drama.

  4. Daphne and Simon on the Staircase (Season 1)

As we said above, Daphne and Simon’s wedding night is just the first of their many sex scenes. One such memorable scene is in season 1 episode 7 which happens on the staircase.

Aside from the power dynamic shown (given how it's Simon giving Daphne oral), the fact that Simon they’re still doing it while Simon is still mad about what happened previously adds a layer of intrigue.

  5. Anthony and Siena’s Stunning Tree Intro (Season 1)

Bridgerton may seem like a typical period drama featuring characters who repress their feelings and desires. The show breaks this idea early on as just a few minutes into season 1 episode 1, Netflix viewers are treated to Anthony and Siena having sex against a tree.

This isn’t the longest nor the steamiest scene in the show, but it’s such a memorable jolt for viewers, effectively telling them that this is not your average period drama.

  6. Daphne By Herself (Season 1)

Another way that the series breaks from period drama conventions is with its treatment of female sexuality. This is apparent in episode 3 when Daphne touches herself.

Much like the scene with Anthony and Siena, the fact that this happens early on is in a way, a setup for the rest of the scenes that the show explores.

Plus, Daphne and Simon’s subsequent dialogue also helps set up their relationship.

  7. Anthony and Siena Again, This Time Under the Stage (Season 1)

Anthony and Siena have a couple of memorable scenes in season 1, but this one from season 1 episode 8 is the spiciest of them all.

That’s because this scene shows the two having sex under the stage where a live boxing match is happening, complete with hundreds of viewers.

Aside from the fact that this scene’s setting is pretty much public, the fact that Siena now has more agency compared to their previous encounters as she takes the lead more.

  8. Daphne and Simon’s Controversial Moment (Season 1)

At some point, Daphne learns about conception, and with this newfound knowledge, Daphne prevents Simon from pulling out.

Out of all the scenes in the series, this one is the closest to problematic territory, especially as it tackles ideas about consent.

On the flip side, the fact that it explores consent from both sides makes it quite progressive, all things considered.

  9. Anthony and Kate’s Passionate Garden Scene (Season 2)

Season 2 is lighter on the steamy scenes, but Anthony and Kate’s passionate lovemaking in season 2 episode 7 is no doubt one of the most memorable of the series just because of how satisfying it is.

After lots of build-up throughout the season, Anthony and Kate’s scene was one that many viewers no doubt wanted to see.

What adds extra spice is that they’re outdoors in the garden which adds an element of danger to them. Plus, the two aren’t even married yet at this point, again that’s another way the series breaks from genre conventions.

  10. The Daphne and Simon Montage (Season 1)

At the top of our list is Daphne and Simon’s montage in season 1 Episode 6. Bridgerton had its fair share of Daphne x Simon scenes, but this one is the spiciest as it’s practically a highlight reel of steamy moments.

Just because of its sheer number of scenes, ranging from the bed, and even a ladder for some reason, this takes the cake as Bridgerton’s spiciest scene.

  11. Bridgerton Season 3 Promises More Spicy Scenes

For the third season, the show promises to have even more of these. In a recent interview with The Wrap, Nicola Coughlan mentioned that they filmed an array of sex scenes for the third season.

Coughlan said that these were “intimidating to shoot” though she also called them “brilliant,” stating that she’s proud of the work that they’ve done.

Bridgerton season 3 Part 1 will premiere worldwide exclusively on Netflix on May 16, 2024.
