Tom Holland is the longest-tenured actor to play Spider-Man on the big screen and just when you thought Spider-Man: No Way Home officially ends his journey as our friendly neighborhood web-slinger, you got it all wrong as the Homecoming trilogy was apparently just the tip of the iceberg. The film, which Holland himself previously dubbed as the most ambitious superhero film ever is currently astonishing audiences across the globe and it just might go down in history as the best of all time.
We found out just recently that a fourth Spider-Man film is already being developed which obviously comes as no surprise especially if you've already seen the latest one. But before that happens, Holland apparently has his sights set on winning an Academy Award and he firmly believes that his Spidey portrayal will propel him to that dream.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 25-year-old actor jokingly said that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' third standalone Spidey venture will earn him his first Oscar amid Kevin Feige's recent remarks that the Academy has a "genre bias" towards superhero films. He said: "I do know that I love this character, and I would be sad to say goodbye. But I have achieved basically everything I wanted to achieve as this character, I really think I’m going to win the Oscar for this movie. So there, it’s great."

To his credit, Holland definitely upped his acting in No Way Home and it's quite refreshing to see a different side to the fun-loving MCU hero. Now, whether or not his performance in the will is enough for the Academy to put him in consideration remains to be seen but don't be surprised if he ends up getting snubbed.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now showing in cinemas worldwide.
