Thunderbolts* star Lewis Pullman recently addressed the biggest mystery surrounding his character Sentry.
The fan-favorite Marvel character is set to make his MCU debut in the upcoming film. The teaser trailer gave us our first look and, so far, they are still keeping his superpowered persona under wraps aside from being called "Bob."
Fans have been wondering whether Sentry will be portrayed as a villain or a hero in the upcoming film considering the ambiguous nature of the character based on what we've known so far.
Lewis Pullman on Sentry's Hero or Villain Turn in Thunderbolts*
In a recent interview, Pullman was asked whether his character in Thunderbolts* would be portrayed as a villain or a hero.
Surprisingly, he admitted that he is unsure which side is "Bob" on in his portrayal in the film and he was just embracing the "unknowns."
"God, I would love to know. I genuinely, I don't know. It's one of the exciting parts about being invited into the whole universe is there's a lot of unknowns, and you just kind of got to go with the flow and embrace the unknowns of it all," the actor said.
This is an intriguing comment from Pullman as it suggests that Sentry will likely blur the line between a villain and a hero when we see him in the film and it's exciting to see how they'll explore that characterization.
After all, the comics were also playing that territory which makes him a compelling character and different from some of the iconic characters that we've seen in the Marvel lore.
Perhaps we will get some clarity in the coming months leading up to its release in the early summer of next year. Hopefully, we will get some glimpses of Pullman in the Sentry suit unless they'll keep it secret until the release of the film itself.
Thunderbolts* is slated for release in theaters on May 2, 2025.
