There is little doubt that everyone is already looking forward to seeing Henry Cavill's final outing as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 3. But what can we expect of the White Wolf in the third season? Cavill revealed that his character is set for a major change in attitude later this month.
Henry Cavill Confirms Major Attitude Change for Geralt in The Witcher Season 3
Henry Cavill recently spoke to TUDUM where he reveals that things will change for Geralt in the third season.
"Geralt has been very nonchalant about these threats of war and famine and the end times [in previous seasons]," he said.
"He’s like, 'Look. I've been there, done that. It's not the end times. It's just going to be another fight'... [but in Season 3] everyone is after Ciri," Cavill continued. "That changes his entire perspective on things."
This isn't exactly a huge surprise considering that Geralt has started to truly see Ciri as his own daughter. Cavill had previously pointed out that the White Wolf is ready to be a family man and that he takes to fatherhood “like a fish to water.”
“It’s quite lovely to see that underneath this cynical, acerbic, walls-up kind of nature is actually a very loving core,” he said.
We already got a glimpse at Geralt as a family man, if that man actually had to fight off dozens of men who are trying to kidnap his daughter. This was featured in the new clip from The Witcher Season 3.
The Witcher Season 3 will bring back Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan. The third season will be the final one for Cavill who has stepped down from the lead role. Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth will take over as Geralt in the fifth season.
The Witcher Season 3, Volume 1 premieres on Netflix on June 29, 2023.
